Handcrafted Pistol Display Case by Robert Wolfkill
Handcrafted 1911 Pistol Display Case No. 29 in Salvaged Florida Mahogany by Robert Wolfkill
Robert Wolfkill is a professional furniture maker/designer handcrafting one of a kind pieces from his studio near Palm Beach FL.
Robert’s goal in designing this heirloom quality 1911 pistol case was for it to become your most treasured keepsake. As a classically trained furniture maker, Robert uses old world techniques to craft each case to order.
Sixteen tenons were used to construct the carcass of the case. No detail was overlooked including hand carved legs, chamfered edges, glass top, cove molding, red velvet and fully mortised concealed high quality nickel plated SOSS hinges.
This case was constructed in May 2021 from salvaged Florida Mahogany. The timber is rare and a case with this material will not likely be made again. Robert used select sections of the log and obsessed over grain and tone. The case then received several coats of a hand rubbed oil and wax finish which protects and spotlights the natural beauty of the wood grain.
Insert is crafted for a full sized 1911 frame and magazine. Message Robert if you would like to know if your gun fits or the insert needs modifications (no charge).
The bottom was numbered and signed but can also be engraved with your name/badge number/military service number or any message of your choice.
Exterior measurements are 12 5/8” L x 9 3/8” D x 4 1/4” H .
(This case is for long term storage and display purposes only- your firearm must be stored with magazine empty and no round in the chamber.)
