A beautiful Dawn Redwood log was gifted to me over twenty years ago. It has been “staring” at me asking “what will I become” ever since. The final answer is hand-carved centerpiece bowls (only 4 will be made). Such an interesting story behind this timber that had not grown in North America for centuries. In 1941, the tree began its glorious comeback! Unlike its big brother found in Northern California, this redwood prefers a wet climate. this log came from a tree which fell in Tennessee. I was rewarded by the glorious colors when I split the log. The bowls will be approximately 26’L x 8″W all four uniquely different.
