I collaborated with a very talented maker who specializes in quilting, knitting and handmade fibers to create a beautiful and unique Lazy Kate. The device is used to spin bobbins while yarn is woven. This design utilizes a piece of select solid hardwood timber (pictured is White Oak) which is shaped by hand to echo the profile of the bobbin. The timber is sanded and finished with a hand-rubbed oil and wax. Four (4) solid brass rods are mortised into the hardwood. Dimensions are 18″ L x 4″W. The brass rod can be customized to fit the diameter of your bobbin.
The Lazy Kate sells for $200 USD before shipping and tax. Please contact me with any questions.
